Focusing to ‘lift” the pelvic floor and the lower abs helped me feel stronger in the abs. I love Rollover and feel I do it quite well, but when I am rolling the spine, at one point, my shoulders lift a bit, my chest ‘caves’ a bit. What can I do to improve this? Great sess: thank u!

    1. Hello Gaby!
I love hearing your practice feedback and your wonderful questions. In roll over, it is common thing for shoulders ‘caved in’ / Lift off / Internally rotate. The reason is compensation for tight back/shoulder muscles and weaker shoulder extensors (muscles to press the arms firmly down to the floor). My suggestion is to spread the arms wider by your sides, creating more A shape, then work hard in your triceps and shoulder muscles to keep the shoulders grounded – don’t lift off. It will take a great amount effort to re-pattern the muscles connection. If the shoulders still come off, add something underneath each of your hands to help the hands/arms to connect to the floor in roll over, a small padding/books. Keep your shoulder extensors active with all these assistance. Give it a try and let me know if they help.
